From Francis Owusu-Ansah,
The Nkoranza South Municipal Business Advisory Center (BAC), with support from the Rural Enterprise Programme (REP), has trained a number of people in beads production, baking and confectionery at Nkwabeng and Dotobaa.
The five-day training equipped the beneficiaries with production and marketing skills. The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Diana Attaa Kusiwaa, addressing the trainees, urged them to apply the skills they have acquired to better their lives.
Madam Attaa Kusiwaa also advised the trainees, who are mostly women, to be hardworking, adding that it is time women are economically empowered to take care of their households.
The MCE assured the trainees of support from the Municipal Assembly to establish businesses after the training. The trainees thanked the assembly, BAC and the REP for organising the training programme for them.
According to them, the skills they have acquired would enable them start businesses to make them economically independent.
