Dreams F/C’s annihilation at the hands of WAFA was caused by series of incidents that took place hours before the duel, the club’s PR Officer has told The Chronicle.
Mr Henry Asante Twum, who speaks for the club, told The Chronicle Sports Desk in an exclusive interview that the team arrived just forty minutes ahead of kick off.
According to Mr Asante Twum, the bus the team was travelling on broke down on their way to Sogakope and officials quickly arranged for another bus to convey the players.
Unfortunately, he said, the hired bus also broke down before it could reach Sogakope, compelling them to continue the journey by taxi cabs, a situation he claimed affected their game plan.
“On the whole, we faced a team that was psychologically prepared than us. We did our best but our best was not enough”, he explained.
“We just have to congratulate our opponent and move on to the next game on Wednesday”, Mr Twum added.
WAFA’s whitewashing of Dreams F/C on match day 10 occupied major sports discourse, since the score line came as a surprise to many soccer connoisseurs.
WAFA went on a goals harvest and when they scored five unanswered goals against the Premier league returnees, who have so far defeated the likes of Aduana and Kotoko this season.
A goal each from Justice Amate, Richared Danso, Augustine Boakye and a brace from Charles Boateng forced the Dreamers to taste their worse defeat in the league.
