Elmina Sharks Football Club is currently heaving a great sigh of relieve following their dramatic victory over Hearts of Oak Saturday, Yaw Achampong has stated.
According to the coach of the Elmina based club, had work accounted for his side’s victory over the former champions, who were playing a home game at the Cape Coast Stadium on match day 7.
In a post-match interview with the Chronicle Sports Desk, Yaw Achampong mentioned that his boys were well psyched, ahead of their crucial clash.
“Hearts of Oak is a big club so we prepared well ahead of the game. We are now happy that we beat them”.
A mis-communication between Heart’s shot stopper Ben Mensah and two of his defenders presented an opportunity to striker Felix Annan to open the scores for the away team.
Skipper Daniel Obeng Crentsil doubled the lead of the visitors on the 41st minute mark.
Though Hearts came from recess with renewed energy and determination, their dominance in the second half only produced a consolation goal.
It would be recalled that Hearts lost by a lone goal to Elmina Sharks at the same venue during a preparation match before the start of the season.
