Kumasi Mayor secures vision centre project for KATH

A collaboration between Wenzhou Medical school in China and Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi has been cemented, following a push by the mayor of Kumasi, Mr Osei Assibey Antwi. The establishment of an Eye Centre at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in the coming months has thus been finalised. The Mayor of Kumasi is in Wenzhou city with Ing Nana Poku Agyeman, Metro Director of Urban Roads and some business executives in Kumasi, to strengthen the sister city relationship between Kumasi and Wenzhou. The Wenzhou Eye Vision Centre is the Number one Ophtomology Centre in China. Mayor Assibey Antwi indicated in an electronic mail to The Chronicle that the Deputy Ambassador to China, H.E. Charles Dwamena, who is also an old Student and a renowned product of Wenzhou Medical University, was instrumental in securing the offer for the establishment of the Vision Centre project at KATH in Kumasi.
