Asante Kotoko head coach Paa Kwesi Fabin is struggling to come to terms with the fact that his side suffered a 1-0 defeat to Dreams FC in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors were beaten in Dawu courtesy a late strike by substitute George Dwubeng.
It was Kotoko’s third consecutive defeat on the road and has left them outside the top four in seventh place with 10 points after seven match days.
“This was a match we should have won hands down, but I don’t know what happened, in the last minute we conceded a very silly goal and lost,’’ Fabin said.
However, irate Asante Kotoko fans have threatened to pull out striker Mawuli Osei from the pitch should coach Samuel Fabin dare field him again. They are also calling for the coach to be sacked after his dismal performance.
Osei joined the Porcupine Warriors on a one-year deal with the option to extend in the off-season,
However, the 28-year-old is yet to hit his stride, following series of below-par performances in the Ghana Premier League.
The former Liberty Professionals marksman was singled out for criticism by their teeming supporters following the 1-0 defeat against Dreams FC in Week 7 of the league on Sunday.
Fans expressed their disappointment and threatened to prevent the left-footed hitman from featuring in their matches.
“We don’t want him anywhere close to the team. If he’s fielded again we will invade the field and stop him from playing,” the angry fans told Accra-based Asempa FM.
Osei previously played for Hapoel Haifa, Hapoel Ashkelon, Hapoel Nazareth Illit, Hapoel Bnei Lod, all in Israel.
But the Communications Director of the club, Obed Acheampong, has called on the supporters to exercise patience for the striker.
