The Queen mother of Kwahu Obomeng Traditional area of the Eastern Region, Nana Dawa Asiedua II, has called on indigenes of Obomeng to come together and ensure that she gets a befitting new apartment.
The respected queen mother made this call during her 30th anniversary celebration as Queen mother of the Obomeng traditional area over the weekend, which attracted very important people from all walks of life.
Though she has a place, Nana Dawa Asiedua II said this has become necessary because the location of her current place of abode is not good, a situation that undermines her status.
Notwithstanding, the queen mother expressed her happiness and thanked the traditional council for helping to restore peace, unity and development in the area, since she became the queen mother.
Responding to the appeal made by the queen mother, the Chief of Obomeng, Nana Effah Pinaman III, who is also the biological son of the queen mother promised to help build the new apartment before next year’s Easter celebration.
Donations were received from friends and well-wishers, including the Eastern Regional Queen mother’s association.
Rev. Father Bright Kennedy Agyapong, Parish Priest of the Catholic Church, Nkawkaw, did a presentation on behalf of the church and promised to name one basic school in honour of the Queen mother.
The occasion was also graced by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Kwahu West Municipal, Hon. Owusu Addo.
