New Juaben SHS pardons 19 suspended students over ‘wee party’

chronicle April 9, 2018

Nineteen (19) suspended final year students of the New Juaben Senior High School in the Eastern Region have been recalled to take part in the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE), under a bond of good behaviour.

The students allegedly organised a marijuana party on campus which led to one of the students being hospitalized.

For their punishment, some of the students were suspended indefinitely for their alleged involvement in the act, whereas others were expelled from boarding house.

Citi News sources in the school revealed that the decision by the management of the school to recall the affected students was largely influenced by some highly influential parents of some of the affected students.

Even though the management of the school is tight-lipped about the incident, Citi News checks at the Eastern Regional Education office indicate that, the GES has shown interest in the incident, and has called on the school management to furnish them with the report.

Citi News also understands that the 19 students have also been made to sign a bond of good behavior.
