The Zone Three Charismatic Renewal of Kumasi Archdiocese Charismatic Renewal has donated food items worth GH¢2,000 and a cash the amount of GH¢700 to support the Charity Sisters Home at Mbrom, a suburb of Kumasi.
The items donated include four bags of rice, three cartons of milk, second hand clothes, washing powder, 10 crates of eggs, Frytol and other cooking oils, baby diapers, a bag of maize, biscuits, and two cartons of Milo.
Zone Three comprises of various Catholic churches, including that of New-Tafo, Old Tafo, Kronum, Breman, Suame, Tarkwa Maakro and Pankrono.
Mr. Frederick Obeng, Coordinator of the group, indicated that it is the responsibility of every Christian group or denomination to ensure that they reach out to the less-privileged and vulnerable in society, especially in times of need, hence the gesture.
He pleaded with other churches, civil society organisations (CSOs) and religious bodies to emulate what they have to do to ensure that society is given the needed support, by showing keen interest in issues related to the less-privileged and needy, especially inmates of the various homes.
The Caretaker, who received the items on behalf of the home, commended the leadership of Zone Three, and the entire members for the kind gesture, and entreated them never to give up their good deeds to ensure that they would always remember the less-privileged and needy.
She pleaded with other groups and organisations to emulate the shining example of the group by coming to their aid, as the inmates have no parents to take care or provide for them, but only depend on donors from organisations like theirs.
