Head coach of AshantiGold Charles Akunnor believes their tactical supremacy aided their 3-1 win against Hearts of Oak in Week 2 of the Ghana Premier League.
Speaking to reporters after the match, AshantiGold coach Charles Akunnor indicated that they did everything better than their counterparts, hence deserved their victory.
“Tactically we were better and much disciplined. We knew exactly what we had to do to win this game and I think we did it well, we made them suffer to see the ball,” Akunnor said.
“I told the boys to keep the ball and they heeded to my instruction which made things difficult for Hearts of Oak. We fully deserve the three points because we were better on the day.”
However, Head coach of Hearts of Oak Henry Wellington has lamented his side’s abysmal display in their 3-1 loss against AshantiGold.
“It very unfortunate that we had to lose in this manner,” Wellington told reporters.
“So many things went wrong for us because in the first half we weren’t pushing and we allowed them too much space to cause damage and they did it well.
“We came back after conceding the first two goals but there again we shipped in another awful goal. The goals we conceded were avoidable; I’m really disappointed with the outcome.”
