Ignore Northern Youth Protesting Against My Appointment – Bede Ziedeng

BedeThe new Northern Regional Minister Bede Ziedeng is asking that the youth group protesting his appointment to the region should be ignored.

Speaking to Citi News the new Northern Regional Minister Bede Ziedeng indicated that a single pressure group cannot assume to represent the interest of a very large, diverse and multi ethnic region like the Northern Region.

“Northern region is a very vast region; we have various stakeholders in the Northern region. If one group says something let us find out what the other group is saying” he said.

According to him there is a need to listen to those who have not spoken since they constitute the majority of people in the region.

He explained that just as employees are subject to transfers; it is same with ministerial appointments.

“Since the president is the employer he is entitled to give you any assignment at any point in time” he said.

According to him, the President has a reason for the reshuffling.

“We know that once you have been appointed it doesn’t mean that you are going to stay at the same place so for me I don’t see anything unusual about it” he added.
