As the weeks roll by, so has been the strength of the new 24-hour sports channel run by Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), christened GTV Sports Plus.
And with just four months into its operation, the channel which runs live telecasts of the English Premier League (EPL), the Italian Sierra ‘A’, most National team matches and other LIVE events, has gradually won the hearts of numerous viewers.
The channel balances local and international sporting events, and it is miles ahead of the other Sports Channels in terms of its program content, picture quality and its ability to provide viewers with countless options.
In an interview with the GTV Sports Plus Channel Manager, Mr. George Lomotey, he revealed the new Channel seeks among other things to meet its viewers’ sporting demands, saying “It is also about getting our GTV SPORTS+ brand to reside within the hearts and minds of our viewers, clients, and prospects during the Yuletide, and for them to identify us as the only and real 24 hour Sports Channel.”
In a related development, Mr. Lomotey has congratulated Joseph Agbeko for his sterling performance against Yonnhy Perez in their IBF Bantamweight bout, and has promised viewers many innovative programs that the GTV Sports Plus will roll out in the coming years.
Mr. Lomotey was the Africa Union of Broadcasters Co-ordinator of the FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010 in-charge of forty-one (41) African countries including Ghana.
