Ghana deserves loss to Liberia –Asamoah Gyan

Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan says Tuesday’s friendly defeat to Liberia was well-deserved. The Al Ain striker was stand-in captain as the Black Stars succumbed to two early first half goals in the 2-0 reverse in Monrovia.

Ghana fielded a second-string side and paid the penalty. An improved second-half performance could not affect the scoreline.

“We conceded the goals within three minutes and when that happens it becomes very difficult to come back,” the 25-year-old told Peace FM. “I think it was due to loss in concentration but we mounted a good fight but unfortunately we were unable to come back.

“We need to accept the defeat in good faith because the better side won.” Ghana have lost two in four matches since June this year.
