Ghanaian midfielder Gershon Gbeve became the fifth teammate to be evicted from the MTN Soccer Academy West Africa in last Sunday’s Eviction Show, sending down shock waves in the competition which is in its seventh week.
The eviction of the 19-year-old, who was admired by many patrons of the show for his dribbling skills and affable personality, came as a great surprise to the crowd that had gathered to witness the ceremony, and left many of his fans disappointed, with some of them near to shedding tears.
Though noticeably hit by his exit himself, Gershon still kept his cool, as he waved at his fans, and gradually made his way to the tunnel to have his final moments with his colleagues, amidst the exchange of some emotional hugs.
The 19-year-old midfielder was also expressive of the experiences he had gained in the reality show, and noted, “There’s been a marked improvement in almost every aspect of my soccer skills and tactics, and I must say that the rigorous training we were taken through everyday has contributed significantly in this regard.”
The night also showcased thrilling musical performances by some of Ghana’s most talented hip-life artistes, including Sydney, who is famous for his hit track, “Wana moni”.
The hip-life icon was evidently in his elements, as he moved the lively crowd to its feet, dancing to his latest track “Ye be sei mu.”
The competition is indeed, getting more intense with every eviction night, as there seems to be very interesting revelations, and as the teammates also do all they can to ensure their continued stay in the competition to win the ultimate prize.
Lovers of the show can be sure of another interesting night this Sunday at the Soccer Academy house.
