Five candidates to contest Agona West parliamentary seat

Five people have filed their nominations in the Agona West Constituency to contest the 2012 Parliamentary election.

They are Mr Charles Obeng-Inkoom for National Democratic Congress, Mr Samuel Kweku Obodai, New Patriotic Party, Mr Stephen Ato Wilson, Progressive Peoples Party, Mr Alfred Kwame Amponsah, National Democratic Congress and Mr George Biney Ampiah, Convention Peoples Party.

Mr Kwame Amoah, Agona West Municipal Electoral Director congratulated the contestants for successfully filing their nominations to contest the election.

He cautioned them and their supporters “to play the game according to the rules and regulations to ensure peace and stability”.

Mr Amoah said the Electoral Commission would not countenance any act that could jeopardise the December 7 General Election, adding that peace is the most essential tool to propel the democratic development of the country.

The contestants promised to conduct a decent and peaceful campaign devoid of insults, hatred, acrimony and personal attacks. Credit: GNA
