Ex-foreign minister donates streetlights to 10 communities

THE FORMER Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu-Juabeng constituency and ex-minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr.Akwasi Osei Adjei, has presented about 80 pieces of streetlights worth GH¢2,900 to ten communities in the constituency, in fulfillment of a pledge he made during his tenure as an MP.

Among the communities which benefited from the ex-MP’s benevolence, were Apemso, Abanitinima, Kotei, Ofoase, Abentim, Nkyerepoase, and Kodie.

The presentation of the streetlights was to improve security and enhance the lives of people in the beneficiary communities.

Speaking at a short presentation in Juabeng, the ex-MP said the donation was to showcase his love and care for the people in the community, irrespective of the fact that he was no more a member of parliament for the constituency.

He said it was his wish to see an improvement in the lives of the constituents, and expressed the optimism that the little gesture would go a long way to improve the lot of the people.

Mr. Osei Adjei said during his reign as the Member of Parliament for the area, he made sure every community was connected to the national grid, and indicated that the donation was to fulfill a promise he made two years ago to supply the communities with streetlights.

He noted that even though he was no longer the MP, he would continue to do everything he could to enhance the lives of the people, particularly, in the area of education.

An opinion leader and spokesperson for the communities, Nana Boaitey, commended the ex-MP for his selflessness and commitment to the welfare of the people.
