Egypt first to hit town

Revelations from the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) of the 2010 Africa Club for hockey championship indicates that Egypt’s Sharkia (male and female teams) and Police will be the first to arrive in the country.

The male side, who are the defending champions and their female counterparts, are expected in the country on December 2, for the competition which bullies off from December 8 to 19 at the National Hockey Stadium.

In all, seven male teams and six female teams will compete in the Hockey Club Championship.

The male side will see Sharkia, and Police from Egypt, Strathmore University of Kenya, Niger Flickers and Yobi Desert from Nigeria, Trustees and Golden Sticks from Ghana.

Extinguishers and Reformers (Ghana), Heartland, Yobi Queens (Nigeria), defending champions Telcom (Kenya) and Sharkia will battle for honours in the female category.
