Derek scores for Getafe, Osu Children’s home

Ghana’s Derek Boateng’s back heel in a low cross was enough to hand visiting Getafe all three points in their crunchy tie against Almeria in the Spanish La Liga last Sunday.

Almeria, playing at home took a two-nil lead before Moral and Miku drew Getafe level.

The victory, a club record in the top division for Getafe was their fourth straight win and lifts the team into sixth place on 26 points.

Meanwhile, the dreadlock midfielder has said in a post-match interview that he has purposed to visit the Osu Children’s Home at Labone in Accra.

The player is expected to visit the Home on Christmas day, this Saturday, a source close to the player told this writer.

According to the source, the player who had previously embarked on similar exercises (donating musical instruments to the blind and orphanages) says he takes delight in sharing the little he has with the less privileged in society.
