CPP WILL SEEK WELFARE OF ALL GHANAIANS … Says Sakara’s running mate

The Vice Presidential Candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) for the 2012 elections has stated that Ghana under the leadership of Dr. Abu Sakara will seek the welfare of all Ghanaians, irrespective of one political persuasion, tribal or religious lineage, or geographical location.

Nana Akosua Frimpomaa Sarpong is worried that 55 years after independence, Ghanaian children continue to grapple to have access to basic amenities such as education, health, and clean drinking water among others.

Nana Frimpomaa made these remarks at her maiden press conference to brief the Media about her decision to abdicate her stool as Gyantoahemaa of the Dormaa Traditional Area to partner Dr. Abu Sakara to contest the December Presidential election.

She expressed concern about social injustices in the country, stressing that a “CPP government will not compromise in the pursuit of social justice.

“A CPP Government will ensure equal opportunities for all Ghanaians, as the future of Ghanaians should not be determined by accident but through opportunities created by government,” he said.

She noted that a CPP government would initiate social interventions to meet the housing needs of young people in the Country. She congratulated all Media Houses and Media Personnel who for their extreme professionalism continue to perform their duties, which manifested at the recent Radio and Television Personality Awards.

“I want to use this opportunity congratulate all and also encourage you the Media to do more to help in the development of Ghana. “We want to assure you that, the CPP administration, led by Dr. Abu Sakara, will seek to the welfare of the Ghanaian Media, and that you can trust us we will do it.”

She appealed to the Media to play their role in ensuring peaceful election come December elections. “We all know that, we have come a long way as a Nation, don’t let us do anything that will destabilize the Country our forefathers left for us.

According to her, Ghanaians are suffering today because of lack of visionary leadership. “Our leaders who have had the opportunity to put things right for me and you have all failed to do so. For thirty years, we have had different governments rule this Nation and all we see them doing is grabbing what is meant to be for all Ghanaians only to take care of their wives and children”.

Dr. Michael Abu Sakara Foster, who graced the occasion to support his running mate, stated that government under his leadership from January 2013 will ensure that all past government officials account for their stewardship.

“All government officials found to have made illegal judgment debt payments will be brought to book. A CPP government will not be part of any judgment debt. The CPP is against those who claim to be incorruptible but have not walked the talk,” Dr Sakara stated.

Dr. Sakara revealed that over 50 per cent of Ghanaians live in rural areas under deprived conditions while those in the urban areas face atrocious conditions of congestion, poor sanitation and mass unemployment.

He assured Ghanaians that the CPP under his watch will alleviate their suffering through job creation, agricultural modernization and an Information Communication Technology revolution.

He said the CPP government is against the over dependence on foreign development partners such as the International Monetary Fund.

The maiden press conference addressed by the CPP Vice Presidential Candidate was attended by Samia Yaaba Nkrumah, Chairperson, Ivor Kobina Green-Street, General Secretary, including all Party Executives and leading members, including Professor Agyemang Badu Akosah.
