After 85 days of quality footwork and brilliant leadership qualities at the Ridge residence, pre reality show favourite Ahmed Awal emerged tops in the MTN Soccer Academy WA last Saturday.
And for his reward, he received the keys to the two-bed room house donated by Ayensu River Estates in a final show that was punctuated by musical performance.
Following Awal was Nigeria’s left footed Mohammed Lawal, who received the 4×4 Hyundai Tucson donated by Auto Plaza, while Liberia’s Kesslly Zulu placed third winning the Hyundai i10 salon.
Benjamin Baah, who lost the ultimate to Awal has been promised a two week training with Super Sports in South Africa together with the trio.
Mr Tallal Fattal, CEO of Metro TV and the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Hon Ruben Nii Nortey Dua in separate speeches congratulated the winners and sponsors for making the dream of unearthing soccer talents in the country a huge success.
Kalusha emerged as the top scorer, netting 21 goals, Zulu was adjudged the most disciplined player of the competition and Lawal received the best goal prize.
In all, 14 team mates made it to the plush ridge Academy House, but only six, comprising Awal, Baah, Mohammed, Zulu, Kalusha and Andre made it to the final. The six also received glittering trophies and medals in addition to their prizes.
