Asontaba Equips 1,000 Youth In The E/R

In the quest to offer solutions to critical socio-economic needs such as transportation of farm produce, goods in the market areas, and water supply among others, the Asontaba Cottage Industry and Exchange Programme (ACI&EP) has presented equipment to 1,000 youth in the region.

In all about 10,000 youth across the country have benefited from the programme.

The equipments, which were made up of motor tricycle repairs, maintenance and assembling, were given to the beneficiaries after they had successfully undergone a six-month training programme.

Delivering a speech at the presentation programme in Koforidua on Monday, the Chief Executive of ACI&EP, Mr. Henry Kangah, said the occasion was in demonstration of the cordial relationship between the GYEEDA and his outfit.

The relationship between his office and GYEEDA was aimed at creating jobs for the teeming unemployed and under-employed youth in the region, and country at large.

The Eastern Regional Coordinator of the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA), Mr. Joshua Atta Mensah, stated that the occasion provided a massive opportunity for his office to establish genuine hope for the youth of this country.

According to him, the community motor tricycle project was launched without any political affiliations, and treated every Ghanaian youth to join the team in order to improve on his or her life.
