My brother has applied for the new Ghanaian passport since the first week of October 2010, and has not been able to acquire it, even though he was scheduled to come for it on October 12, 2010 from Takoradi.
He paid GH¢100 on October 5, 2010 at the bank, and upon sending it to the Passport Office, he was told to come for it in a week’s time.
Any time he visits the Passport Office from Takoradi, they will write his passport number on his receipt, however, he will be told that his passport cannot be found.
Today is November 22, and there is no hope of seeing his passport after travelling from Takoradi to Accra several times.
Upon inquiries, he has realised that people are paying huge sums of moneys for their passports, and that his passport might be hidden by someone in the passport office for financial purposes.
He has also realised that people who urgently need their passports normally pay huge sums of monies, and only go to the passport office at 6:00 p.m. everyday to see their ‘guys’ for processing of their passports, and with that, gets the passport in two or three days.
I will therefore, be grateful if you can advice me on how to acquire his passport early enough for its intended purpose.
