Abu Sakara to visit Otumfour

The presidential candidate for the opposition Convention Peoples Party (CPP), Dr. Foster Abu Sakara would today visit the King of Asante, Otumfour Osei Tutu II to ask for his blessings, guidance and prayers ahead of the 2012 general elections.

He is also expected to brief the Asantehene about the policies that the CPP intends to implement under his leadership, when given the mandate to govern the nation by majority of the voter population.

Dr. Sakara would be accompanied by the National Executives of the CPP, led by its Chairperson, Samia Yaba Nkrumah, Professor Agyemang Badu Akosah, Professor Edmund Delle, Mr. Donkor Ayifli and Mrs Ametor Williams. Others include Regional and constituency executives.

A statement released by his office in Accra indicated that the leader of the cockerel family would use the occasion to explain to the Asantehene about his three thematic areas: Social Transformation; Economic Emancipation; and Equity when given to the nod to govern the nation.

His policy on opportunity industrialization centers (OIC’s) meant to cater to cater for Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates who are denied access to continue their education is expected to be highlighted to the Otumfour, according to the statement.

The great great grandson of the late Ndewura Jakpa, founder of the great Kingdom of Gonjaland, the statement added, would also touch base on his vision to provide transparency governance.

The CPP flagbearer on his campaign trail has promised to be tough on corruption and ensure that the Ghanaian benefit from the God-given rich natural resources.

Dr. Sakara, after meeting the Asantehene would proceed with his National whistle stops campaign in the Ashanti Region.  He is expected to spend three days in the Ashanti Region where he will tour several constituencies, meet party executives and address mini rallies to woo votes ahead of the December 7 polls.
