This year’s Miss Earth beauty pageant is set to take off with a big bang this weekend. Being organized by the Miss Earth Organisation, the pageant, under the theme, ‘Beauties for a Cause’ takes off this weekend, with scouting from about 25 tertiary institutions in Ghana.
The scouting is to be done in both the Northern and the Southern sectors, through rigorous pre-selection exercises which will culminate in the selection of the lucky 16, to have the special experience only reserved for Miss Earth Ghana delegates.
This weekend on March 2, the southern sector’s pre-selection will be held at the conference room of the Ghana Wild life Society, while the Northern Sector’s pre-selection will be held at Miklin Hotel, Kumasi, on March 9
According to the Executive Directors of the Miss Earth Ghana Organistion, Edwin Lutterodt Azu and Kwame Osei Sarfo, the sixteen (16) Finalists will then be camped at a home for four weeks to undergo a number of activities, including tree planting, environmental education, beach resource/sanitation, management activities, eco fashion show-themed photo shoots.
These activities will take place in the Greater Accra, Ashanti, Northern and Central regions of Ghana.
All the activities of the delegates would be filmed and relayed to the viewing audience in captivating diaries, that would help sustain the interest of the general public in the pageant, as well as promote the brand of sponsors.
