When they gained promotion to what was then known as First Division in Ghana, the Pride of the North, as they have been frequently called, Real Tamale United (RTU) made the Kaladan Park their home grounds a dreaded venue for all clubs that trekked there for league matches. Hardly did clubs go there to notch wins – their best had always been narrow wins and draws, which are far dwarfed by the number of defeats they all suffered at the hands of RTU.
