The Ghana Health Service (GHS), in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), has launched a new health initiative dubbed, ‘Good Life Campaign’ in Accra. It is aimed at promoting a healthy living among Ghanaians across the country.

The Director General of the Ghana Health Services, Dr. Elias Sory, who launched the campaign, noted that the new initiative would bring about good living among Ghanaians, and called for all health initiatives in the country to be brought under the new initiative.

“When you are successful at preventing diseases, and you and your loved ones stay healthier, this will free up your time, money and energy to focus on more productive, more fulfilling things, because you will not be weakened by illness as frequently, and will not have to spend as much on treatments and cures,” he noted.

He urged families with children and pregnant woman to attend regular antenatal clinic early, and deliver by a skilled birth attendant, to avoid maternal and newborn deaths and disabilities

The Director General of the GHS also called for a exclusive breastfeeding from birth to six months.
